You do have a gift for the obvious, don’t you, child?

After Alisande and Jon had finished, the cat inspected their plates carefully in case there was anything of interest left.
‘Fancy any kippers, cat?’ Alisande asked amiably.

The cat looked at her, licked its lips with a pink tongue and answered politely. ‘No, thank you,’ it said in a very clear, penetrating treble.
Alisande and Jon stared at it, Alisande with her mouth open. After a while she closed it, and then managed to speak.
‘You talk?’
The cat looked a trifle disdainful, something cats are naturally good at.
‘You do have a gift for the obvious, don’t you, child?’ it remarked.
Well, that’ what happens when you get caught up in the affairs of wizards.

Alisande and Jon have to put a stop to the evil machinations of Elto, an evil wizard bent on destruction. However they would need to acquire some magical skills of their own first.
Jon, being an engineer has an advantage; Alisande, an accountant who works for the Australian Tax Office has another, and Elto has the huge advantage of thousands of years of honing his evil skills. Will the forces of evil prevail?
Or will Elto learn the dreadful consequences of messing with the Australian Tax Office?
And in that case, who are the good guys?
